Introducing Clan de Banlieue’s newest summer collection ‘VingtdeuxForever’
As part of our commitment to supporting the Black community, we are thrilled to introduce you to a unique brand. Launched in 2015 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Clan De Banlieue is a Black-owned streetwear brand dedicated to transforming the negative image of the suburbs into a positive one.
For its new collection, 'VingtdeuxForever', Banlieue drew inspiration from its very first bomber jacket, which mentions 'VINGTDEUX' (twenty-two in French) on the back. Since the beginning of the brand, '22' has been an essential reference for the owners throughout the entire journey. Paris, the capital of France, consists of 20 districts, with many Banlieue's surrounding the city. Banlieue has always found great inspiration in Parisian Banlieues and aims to become the voice of banlieues worldwide. Clan De Banlieue considers Parisian Banlieues as one. So, they decided to be the 22nd district. The district of the world.
This Spring-Summer 2022 collection is a nod to their early days as a brand. Calling this one 'VingtdeuxForever' is Clan De Banlieue's promise to stay forever. The brand is eager to leave a cultural impact on the world far beyond offering clothing. Community building, creating together, and merging efforts to build a better world is what they stand for.
For this season, they dug into the brand's footwear archives from the 90's, where they found bold and colorful palettes that left nothing but iconic silhouettes. So, they picked their favorite shoes from that era and studied their color palettes. Thus, Banlieue came up with a bright color palette consisting of Sea moss Blue, Papaya Orange, Lime Cream, and Royal Blue as the main colors for this collection. Offering garments in unique cuts, fabrics, and silhouettes carefully curated throughout the design process, 'VingtdeuxForever' is Clan De Banlieues' most diverse collection so far.
