This time of the year could easily be our favorite. Winter’s almost over, days are getting longer…and then of course, March is Air Max Month!
Rebellious and unapologetic, Air Max shoes are made for bold types who are not afraid of taking risks and to express their real self with anticonformistic and fashion-forward designs. Dedicated to this iconic Nike line, Air Max Month is a month-long celebration constellated with exciting drops, leading up to the most anticipated Air Max moment of the year: Air Max Day on March 26th.
On March the 9th, we are kicking off the celebrations with a release that pays clear tribute to Frank Rudy, the inventor of the Air Max technology: the Nike Air Max TW "Frank Rudy". The Nike Air Max TW is a shoe that was always meant to break the mold and stand out. With its maximalist wavey design, inspired by the iconic 90’s silhouette, and the latest technology maxing out the comfort, the TW is the ultimate street-ready sneaker. The Nike Air Max TW Next Nature is another example of this. Its dark, fading look is brightened up by Baltic Blue accents on the swoosh that give it a modern, almost extraterrestrial look.
Then it’s the Nike Air Max 90 Futura’s turn to join in on the homage. This women’s colorway in mineral shades of green is playful, comfortable, and sporty.
We are wrapping up the celebrations with the most important drop of all: the new, and much anticipated Nike Air Max Pulse. A style-conscious sneaker for the street youth of today, the AM Pulse combines the comfort of the AM 270 air bubble with a fresh, lightweight engineered mesh upper. A shoe that is as tough outside, as it’s soft inside.
We have called on our Stripers to show us how to style an Air Max. Check out the outfit that Yann from Thiais (France) has put together: a black-out ensemble that brings out the personality and the design of each piece. Yann is wearing a black Nike Sportswear Repeat tracksuit jacket and joggers, a white Nike Sportswear Club T-shirt, and the new Nike Air Max TW Next Nature. The dark ensemble is lightened by bright flashes of white and blue.
